SPORTS MEDICINE - STATE CHAMPIONS!
Issaquah Sports Med Team Captures 7th Consecutive State Title! Congratulations to Mr. Todd Parsons and the 20 members of the Issaquah Sports Med team on winning their 7th consecutive team state title this weekend at the Washington Career and Technical Sports Medicine Association state competition held at the Tacoma Convention Center. The Issaquah Eagles placed in top 3 of every individual and team event
ROBOTICS
Issaquah Robotics, along with in the FIRST Robotics World Championships in Houston, TX from April 17th to the 20th.

TRACK & FIELD
Last week the Eagles hosted their last home meet of the season against Bothell. The seniors were honored with a last “victory lap” around the track! Pictures of the Bothell meet on KingCo site
This Week: Last duel meet at Eastlake on Thursday 4/25 at 4:00pm before we head into King Co championships on May 8.
GIRLS TENNIS
Varsity 4-2, 5th place in standings The Varsity women went 1-1 this past week. On April 16, they played at Inglemoor and were defeated 5-0. Sayaka Kenmochi/Anna Jo and Jasleen Shnider/Sydney Antezana were not able to complete their doubles matches due to the match being called due to rain. Their matches were very close and it’s possible they might have got some wins for our team.
On April 18, the team had home court advantage. They defeated Bothell 6-1. We won 3 of the 4 singles matches and all of the doubles matches! Sayaka Kenmochi, Anna Jo, and Charlotte Wilken were victorious in their singles matches! Lasya Neti/Jeewon Jung, Jasleen Shnider/Sydney Antezana, Carah Smallwood/Maddy Ro won their doubles matches.
Junior Varsity 3-3 – 6th place overall The Junior Varsity went 0-2 this past week. On April 16, they lost to the undefeated Inglemoor 1-6. Nicoleand Zoe battled through tiebreak to win a doubles match!!
On April 18, Junior Varsity kept it close and exciting! Bothell won 4-3. Julie Schwartz won her singles match. Remi Ragland/Liv Ollestad and Alex Dunn-Cordova/Colby Rogers won their doubles match!! Kaley Woo/Sophia Wang won their exhibition match! See pictures of matches on the KingCo site
BOYS LACROSSE
Varsity (5-8) - Even with another dominating face off performance by Gaje Gunter, Issaquah falls to Woodinville 3-11. Varsity back in action this week with a 7:45pm road game at Bothell Tuesday night (4/23) and a home game Friday April 26th at 8pm vs Lake WA.
JV (2-6) - A well round team performance leads JV to 8-7 win over Woodinville JV. Ben Hawkins, Clark Chin, Conor Pocingwong, Alex Berns , Micheal Hansen and TJ Victory. Another solid stand by Jack Miller in goal down the stretch brought the win home. JV back in action this week with a 7:30pm road game at Inglemoor Tuesday and a home game Friday April 26th at 6pm vs North Creek JV
This Week: Tuesday night: Var @ Bothell, 7:45pm / JV @ Inglemoor, 7:30pm. Then Friday at HOME; JV vs North Creek, 6pm / Var vs Lake at 8pm
Save the date: May 4th 9am-9pm is Issaquah Lacrosse Community Day at IHS. Lacrosse all day, culminating with a 6pm JV game and the grand finale, Senior Night Varsity vs Mt Si at 8pm. Join us to enjoy back-to-back games from K2, food trucks, gear vendors with a TON of FUN and PRIDE!
SOFTBALL
Senior night is this Friday September 26th at 4:30 as Issaquah looks for the season sweep against Skyline.The Eagles went 1-2 this week garnering their second Kingco win of the season with a 6-1 victory against Bothell.
Monday was a tough loss against neighboring Mt Si 3-1, in which the lone Eagle hit came off the bat of ever steady Sophomore Captain Kelly Hruza. Ella Wolff and Cate Menting shared time in the circle with Freshman Menting giving up only 1 hit and 0 earned runs.
Wednesday the bats came alive in a slugfest at Eastlake with Issy gathering 12 hits in a 11-6 loss. Freshman Hannah Hildebrandt led the team going 3/3. Megan Reichley and Clara Wolff accounted for 2 each while the following all had a hit in the game: Issy Neville, Marissa Tremblay, Kelly Hruza, Ella Wolff and McKenna Malone.Ella and Clara Wolff, as well as Brooke Byers all contributed outs in the circle only allowing 2 earned runs in the steady effort.
Saturday was a day to celebrate a great team effort with solid contributions up and down the lineup in a 6-1 victory against Bothell. Kaia Vaifo’ou and Kelly Hruza hit line drives all over the yard with 2 hits a piece to pace the Eagles, outfielders McKenna Maloneand Hannah Hildebrandt also contributed 2 hits each with Hildebrandt delivering 2 clutch RBIs for insurance runs in the 6th. Solid junior Cora Ericksongot back on track with a line drive single and Clara Wolff added some spectacular play to the ever steady outfield. The at-bats of the game may have come from some clutch walks at opportune times delivered by Brooke Byers,Sophia Jones and Lexi Ridgewell to keep rallies going and the runs coming. Ella Wolff and Cate Menting again with solid pitching to keep the Cougar bats from scoring. An inspiring team victory by the entire lineup. Way to go Eagles!!!! BOYS SOCCER
Varsity 4-2 KingCo (tied for 3rd) Win against Eastlake, 2-0. The varsity Eagles got on the board in the 20th minute when Charlie Buttler was fouled in the box on a breakaway run and converted the PK, 1-0. The second goal came with 6 minutes left in the half when Gage Howard scored off a corner kick to finish the half 2-0. The Eagles defended well in the second half against several chances that Eastlake created including a goal that was called back due to a foul to finish the game with the 2-0 win. The win puts the Eagles in a 3 way tie for third place with 2 games left before post season tournament. Playoff Bracket Playoffs start May 4.
JV 5-1 KingCo Draw against Eastlake, 2-2. The Issaquah Eagles JV squad welcomed the Eastlake Wolves on Wednesday night and ended in a draw of 2-2. Issaquah got on the board early when Kas Bakker passed to Mason Graves in the box allowing for a tap in shot 1-0. The Wolves shot back with a run to bring us at 1-1 at the end of the first half. Eastlake scores with a deflection in the box they find the back of the net with 1-2 with 21 minutes left. With 12 minutes left Issaquah ties it up when Kas Bakker outsmarts the Wolves keeper who comes out the net.
JVC 9-0 KingCo (undefeated!) Draw against Eastlake, 1-1. On Monday April 15, in an away match, Issaquah High School JVC soccer team tied Eastlake High School 1-1. Jean Pierre scored five minutes into the game for Issaquah. Eastlake scored early in the second half. The game finished in a 1-1 tie.
Win against Skyline, 4-0. On Thursday April 18, in a home match, Issaquah High School JVC soccer team defeated Skyline High School 4-0. The Varsity and JV team were on hand and provided enthusiastic support from the bleachers. Sharif Lacasse scored the first goal, assisted by goalkeeper Sean Patterson. Jean Pierre scored the 2nd goal off a throw-in by Omar Jallow. In the second half, Sharif scored his second goal, assisted by Connor Shin. Omar scored the final goal, assisted by Sharif.
Win against Interlake, 2-1. On Friday April 19, in a home match, Issaquah High School JVC soccer team defeated Interlake High School 2-1. Jean Pierre scored the first goal and Issaquah led 1-0 at halftime. Interlake then scored to make it 1-1. Jean Pierre scored his second goal, assisted by Connor Shin. Goalkeeper Mitchell Wilson made a number of saves to seal the victory. The JVC team remains undefeated on the season.

BASEBALL
Varsity 10-5 KingCo (tied for 3rdKingCo) Monday; Eagles score more than Wildcats. The Eagles beat Mt. Si 12-9 on Monday to make it three-straight wins. In a back-and-forth game, Mt. Si knotted it at 9-9 with four runs in the top of the 6th, but the Eagles responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs, highlighted by junior Colton Willbrandt's 2-RBI double.
Wednesday Eagles lose to Wolves. The Eagles lost to the Eastlake Wolves for the second time during the regular season on Wednesday 6-3. While both teams posted 7 hits apiece on the scoreboard, Eastlake broke the game open in the second with some aggressive base running and mistakes made by the Eagles. The Eagles scored 3 runs in the sixth inning with a couple base hits by juniors Ryan Baker and Joe DePalo, a sacrifice fly by senior Arden Walcott, a triple by junior Tyler Reese and an Eastlake error. However, the surge wasn’t enough to surpass the early deficit.
Saturday; Eagles beat Cougars 2-1. With a stellar performance from junior Ryan Baker on the hill, the Eagles beat the Bothell Cougars in their second meeting of the season 2-1. Both of Issaquah’s runs came in the second inning with a walk by senior Cooper Thieme, a sacrifice bunt by senior Lucas Senatore, and RBI singles by junior Colton Willbrandt and senior Arden Walcott.
This Week: Last three games. Join us for SENIOR NIGHT & YOUTH BASEBALL NIGHT on Friday, as the boys play rival Skyline, 4:15pm. Once again, Issaquah Baseball Club will host the popular hot dog stand. Playoff Bracket Playoffs start May 2
Junior Varsity 4-10 KingCo Monday; Loss at Mt. Si, 2-12. Mt. Si put on a hitting clinic with 12 hits and 12 runs. Issaquah led most of the way before Mt. Si tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning. They added 3 in the fifth and 7 in the sixth. Pitcher John Mehr went five innings and took his first loss of the season. Ryan Garcia led the Eagles with two hits, and Tyler Jensen added one.
Tuesday; Loss at home to North Creek, 0-3. It was the Glen McInnerney show! The junior pitcher was dominant on the mound with the complete game shutout. Glen had 7 strikeouts and no walks, limiting a big and tough North Creek team to 5 hits. Tyler Jensen went 2-3 with 2 RBI, and Gavin Clark was 2-2 with a double. Sam Hawk scored two runs, and Cade Stenzel one. Also getting hits: Sam Hawk, Alex Charoenkul, and Shane White.
Wednesday: Loss at home to Eastlake, 0-7. Eastlake got its revenge, shutting out the Eagles. Issy didn’t help its self as the team committed 5 errors, and managed only one hit (John Herd). Issy left 10 men on base. StarterWilliam Warner took the loss, and reliever Cade Stenzel pitched the final 5 innings, giving up 1 run and striking out 4.
Thursday: Loss at home to Woodinville, 3-7. Issy pitchers gave up 10 hits in a game that was close through five innings. Sophomore catcher Alex Charoenkul hit his first high school home run with a towering shot over the left field wall! Charoenkul went 2-3 and 2 RBI. Sean Kageyama was also 2-3. Sam Hawk added a sac fly RBI. Runs were scored by Charoenkul,Gavin Clark and Cade Stenzel.
Saturday: Loss at Bothell, 2-4. Issy had a 1-0 lead through 4 innings before Bothell’s bats came alive in the fifth inning, scoring 3 runs. Starter John Mehr went the distance for the fourth time this year and took the loss. Alex Charoenkul managed the only Issaquah hit. Shane White and Jakob Sellars each had an RBI, and Shane White and pinch-runner Tommy Brown scored. Issaquah threatened to tie the game in the top of the seventh with men on third and second, but couldn’t get them home.
CTeam 10-4 KingCo Tuesday 4/9: 14-13 loss to Eastlake. The Eagles dug themselves a hole early by issuing too many walks to Eastlake batters. They did battle back in what became a back & forth slugfest. Chandler Tuupo hit two triples forcing Eastlake to intentionally walk him the rest of the game.
Tues 4/16: 11-8 loss to Mount Si. Five defensive errors proved too much for the Eagles to overcome. Steven Moore drove in 4 runs to power the C-Team offense.
Thurs 4/18: 8-2 win over Newport. Chandler Tuupo started with 5 strong innings and Nick Imler was sharp in relief to keep the Newport bats quiet. Tuupo, Reagan Kiefer, and Jonah Turner each drove in two runs for the Eagles.
