DECA PLACED TOP IN THE WORLD!
Once again Issy DECA does outstanding at DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC), April 26-May 1 in Orlando! Out of 222,000 DECA students world-wide, only 21,000 qualify to participate at ICDC. **29 students from IHS DECA qualified for ICDC, which was the largest group in IHS DECA history!

EAGLE SPORTS
GIRLS GOLF EAGLES GOING TO STATE!
Our Ladies Golf team was the undefeated Regular Season Champion (9-0). Congrats to Jeemin Nam, Shannon Lin, Grace Wang, Cynthia Lee, and Rosie Shen as they head to State!
State Tournament at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane Washington. It's a 2 day tournament on Tuesday May 21st and Wednesday May 22nd. Go Eagles!
TRACK & FIELD
Track and Field rounded out the regular season this past week with KingCo Championships and JV King Co for South conference. Check our these impressive performances from our Issaquah athletes at the KingCo Championships!
In addition, we have over 30 other athletes continuing on to the District meet this week in South Seattle where the top 3 finishers move on to compete at the State Championships!

BOYS LACROSSE EAGLES WIN FIRST ROUND AT STATE!
Varsity - (9-9) - State Tournament- Eagles scored an opening round road trip 16- 8 win over the Richland Bombers. Face offs were dominated (93.2% success rate) by the deadly combo of John Batura and Gaje Gunter. Offense was powered by Spencer Bernsten's 5 goals, Cody Liddle with a career high 4 goals and 3 assists, Rowan Dillon with 2 goals and 2 assist and Matt Moss earning a hat trick with 3 goals. Solid defense lead by Sol Hawkins, Zay Clayton and Naut Van Ede. A special shout out to Connor Temple for his performance tonight in shutting down the Bombers top scorer and holding him to a season low 2 goals.
The Eagles move on to a quarterfinal match up against Curtis High School on Saturday, May 18th at 7pm in University Place, WA. GO ISSY.........
BASEBALL EAGLES GOING TO STATE!
Eagles beat Jackson, Wednesday ~ The #4 Eagles defeated #3 Jackson, 5-2, on Wednesday at Everett Memorial Stadium to stay alive in the Wes-King Tournament. Junior Jack Githens gave the Eagles some breathing room with a bases-clearing double in the top of the 4th inning and junior Brady Liddle was stellar once again on the hill, retiring nine straight Jackson batters at one point, to improve his record to 5-1.
Monroe bumps Eagles to Win or Go Home game, Friday ~
The Eagles lost to the Monroe Bearcats, 5-9, in district playoff action on Friday night at Everett Memorial Stadium. The Bearcats got some runners on base and did some damage at the plate with a pair of triples and a double, while the Eagles has 10 hits but left eight runners standed.
Eagles advance to state with win over Cascade, Saturday ~ The Eagles got it done Saturday with a 7-0 win against Cascade to advance to the state playoffs. Junior righthander Joseph Warner stepped up on the hill, scattering seven hits over 6 2/3 shutout innings. At the plate, the Eagles got run-scoring singles by Tyler Reese and Joseph DePalo and a double by Colton Willbrandt in their 4-run second inning.
Making their third straight State Playoff appearance, the Eagles play at Propstra in Vancouver on Saturday 5/18, 1pm matchup against Camas. STATE BRACKET
BOYS SOCCER EAGLES GOING TO STATE
Win against Skyline, 3-1 The varsity Eagles continued play in the second round of Wes-KingCo District tournament in a winner goes on and loser out game against Skyline on Tuesday, May 7th at home. Charlie Buttler scored a free kick from 20 yds to put the Eagles on the scoreboard first, 1-0 in the 20th minute of play. The Spartans equalizer was from a penalty kick off a questionable foul, to make it 1-1 only 3 minutes later. Dawson Oen took a volley shot from 20 that bounced off the sidebar and forced the keeper to dive right. Josh Lee found the loose ball and headed it in for a 2-1 lead going into the half. The Eagles fought to retain their one goal lead in the second half. With the Spartans pushing forward looking for the equalizer, Charlie Buttler slotted the ball to Josh Lee for his brace and the 3-1 lead with 7 minutes left in the game.
Win against Mariner, 3-0 The Eagles played in the 3rd round of the Wes-KingCo District tournament in an away game against Mariner High School in Everett on Thursday, May 9th. Paolo Fichera scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Gavin Herman in the 17th minute of play to put the Eagles up 1-0 in the first half. The sun was directly in the Eagle's faces during the half, making it difficult to see long balls and headers. George Calvert made a spectacular save with only 6 minutes left in the half to retain the 1-0 lead at halftime. The Eagles took advantage of the sun being directly in the Mariner's eyes in the second half. Dawson Oen took a shot from 30 yds that went low and right to put the Eagles up 2-1 in the first minute of the second half. Ryan Barrett scored on a breakaway with only 12 minutes left in the game to seal the game at 3-1 for the Eagles. The Eagles earned third place in the Wes-KingCo tournament and a trip to the state tournament with this win.
Upcoming STATE Games: First round state tournament: Still to be scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday, 5/14 or 5/15 against Tahoma High School. It will be an away game at Tahoma HS in Maple Valley.
