BOYS LACROSSE
Varsity 5-7 A road trip to Florida for spring break brought great results with a 17-9 win over Lakewood Ranch, 20-5 win over Sarasota Military Academy and a 15-4 win over St Stephens. Thanks to all the parents and coaches for making this trip happen and a special shout out to Hank Yaap for his dedication to Issaquah Lacrosse as our film crew.
JV 1-6 - Spring Break was idle for JV.
This week: Both teams play Woodinville this Friday, JV at 6pm,Varsity at 8pm.
SOFTBALL
The softball team was able to celebrate its first victory this week against Skyline with their best offensive output winning 15-6. The Eagles scored 15 runs on 15 hits. Those responsible in this top to bottom team effort at the plate all collecting multiple runs, hits or RBIs: Freshman Marissa Tremblay, Kate Menting, Megan Reichley and Hannah Hildebrandt; Sophomores Kelly Hruza and Kaia Vaifo’ou; Junior Clara Wolff and Senior McKenna Malone. Freshman Ella Wolff got the victory in the circle.
On Monday the Eagles were able to keep the game close for a time but eventually succumbed to North Creek 14-6. Freshmen Brooke Byers and Kate Menting combined forces in the pitching circle and Menting led the team with 2 hits and 3 RBIs as well.
Against Inglemoor, a gritty pitching effort by Freshman Ella Wolffwho gave up only 1 earned run went unrewarded in a 4-0 loss. The offense struggled to get on track collecting only 2 hits by Freshmen Megan Reichley and Marissa Tremblay.
This week: Home games on Monday and Friday at 4:30 vs Mt Si and Bothell, Wednesday is at Eastlake at 4pm.

BOYS SOCCER
Varsity 3-2 KingCo Draw against North Creek, 1-1 The Varsity Eagles got on the scoreboard first in the 20th minute when Jack Higgins tapped in a free ball in the box that was delivered off a free kick from the 50 yard line to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead. The North Creek Jaguars responded 11 minutes later with a goal off a long throw in to equalize and finish the half at 1-1. Both teams fought hard in the second half, but neither was able to find the go ahead goal and finished regulation time at 1-1. The Eagles put in 100% effort in the 10 minute OT period and at the end of the game walked away with 1 point and the draw.
JV 5-1 KingCo Loss against North Creek, 1-2 The JV Boys Soccer team suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday night at Pop Keeney against the North Creek Jaguars. North Creek was able to get on the board 20 minutes into the first half but the Eagles countered 10 minutes later with a free kick by Mason Graves to end the half 1-1. The Eagles found themselves in an unlucky spot when the Jaguars took a run in the second half to bring them down 1-2. This was an exciting game to watch as we saw the Eagles fight until the final whistle with a score of 1-2.
JVC 7-0 KingCo Win against Mt. Si, 1-0 The JVC team continued their unbeaten record with a Spring break win against Mt. Si, winning 1-0.

BASEBALL
Varsity 8-4 (3rd KingCo) Monday; Eagles defeated North Creek, 7-1, for their fourth-straight win. Starting pitcher Brady Liddle posted another solid outing on the hill, striking out five and giving up only two hits in five shutout innings for his second win in as many starts. At the plate, the Eagles had eight hits and once again showed a good eye, drawing seven walks. Junior Derek Gellos was 3-for-3 on the day with an RBI double in the 4th and junior Ty Buckner singled home two in the 7th. Junior Tyler Reese and senior Arden Walcott each stole three bases.
Tuesday, Eagles loses to Skyline, 7-3; The bats were quiet early, going down in order the first two innings. Over the final five innings, the Eagles had at least two runners on each inning, but failed to score until the 7th when they picked up all three runs on one play due to an outfield error.
Thursday, Good win over Woodinville, Falcons, 3-0: The Eagles win on the road raise their league record to 7-4, good for fourth place. Both teams put up goose eggs 'til the top of the 6th, when the Eagles made it 2-0 with a lead-off single by junior Tyler Reese, followed by an RBI triple by senior Lucas Senatore and sac-fly by senior Cooper Thieme. Senior Arden Walcott led off the 7th with a triple and was squeezed home by Tyler Reese for the Eagles third run. Eagles starter junior Ryan Baker tossed five shutout innings for his first win of the season, working around four hits and four free passes. Senior Nathan Gunderson closed it out for the Eagles, yielding a lone walk over two innings for his second save.
Friday, Eagles beat Inglemoor Vikings, 2-0 and move up in Standings, now 3rd place in the league! It was a sweet win as they defeated second place Inglemoor 2-0. The Eagles scored all their runs in the 5th on a lead-off single and stolen base by junior Ryan Baker, followed by junior catcher Colton Willbrandt's second double of the game and two Inglemoor errors. Senior Tyler Odegard carried a no-no into the 6th and battled out of a bases-loaded jam by inducing a double-play ball for his third win on the season.

Junior Varsity 3-7 KingCo Tuesday, Issaquah loses to Skyline at home, 3-5: Issy took a 3-2 lead to the top of the seventh on Tuesday at home and unfortunately, gave up 3 runs. Pitcher John Mehr went the distance for the third consecutive game, and took his first loss of the season. Issy left 10 men on base to Skyline’s 4. Issy’s 3 errors contributed significantly to the loss. Junior Tyler Jensen lead the Eagles going 3-4 at the plate. Cody Chan, Jeremy Dondoyano, Alex Charoenkul, and William Warner(2B) had hits.
Friday, Issaquah loses to Inglemoor, 4-6: Another tough loss as Issy had the lead early, but couldn’t hold on. Pitcher Jakob Sellars started and went 1 and 2/3 before Tommy Brown came in and went 4 and 1/3 innings allowing no earned runs. Issy got on the board in the second inning when Cade Stenzel scored William Warner from third, hitting a hard grounder deep to the shortstop. Two Issy errors to Inglemoor‘s one error was a difference maker. Issy only managed four hits. Cade Stenzel (1-2, 2 RBI), Gavin Clark(1-3), Sean Kageyama(1-1, sac bunt, walk), William Warner(1-2). Ryan Garcia and Trevor Chan each had an RBI.

Pacific Northwest Dean’s List Award: Huge shout-out to IHS junior Jacob Lessing. Jacob was selected by judges at the PNW championships as one of three recipients of the Pacific Northwest Dean’s List award. This award recognizes individual students for leadership, technical expertise, and effectiveness at spreading enthusiasm for STEM.
Pacific Northwest Robotics Championships: Issaquah Robotics was one of the 64 highest ranked robotics teams in OR and WA that competed last weekend in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) district robotics championships at the Tacoma Convention Center. –
World Championships- 6th consecutive year! Our performance was sufficient to qualify to attend the Robotics World Championships in Houston, from April 17th to the 20th. We entered the PNW championships ranked 30th overall in OR and WA (of 151 teams), but climbed to the 24th spot at the PNW Championships.
